El Chorro is a small village in the Alora area of Malaga Province. The gorge of El Chorro is situated 12km from the town.
The area is declared as one of the many national parks of Malaga due to its beauty and landscapes.
Situated near ‘Málaga's lake district’ El Chorro is a beautiful gorge carved into the rock located next to the Guadalhorce River near the area of Ardales.
El Chorro gorge is a perfect location for adventure sports in Malaga such as rock climbing and hiking, in fact, it is considered by many as one of the best places to go climbing in Europe.
Other sports in Malaga which widely practiced in El Chorro area is canoeing, canyoning, and trekking or long walks or mountains and natural areas. All these activities are amazing and very rewarding to disconnect from the hustle and the daily routine of our lives.
There is a narrow (approximately 1 metre wide) that follows the gorge that was once walked by King Alfonso XIII of Spain, although at the moment it is closed for repairs.
However, don't let this stop you from visiting this wonderful area, as you will be amazed by the views of the surrounding landscapesfrom the many walks around the reservoirs.
The campsite is surround by the Nature Park and the Guadalhorce reservoirs. It’s a perfect place to rest and relax on your holiday.
It is located 45 minutes from Malaga and also 45 minutes away from one of the many beaches of Malaga.
Getting to the area of El Chorro can be difficult by public transport so we recommend hiring a car from Malaga airport.
